Biography:
Alessia graduated from the University of Mount Union in Ohio with a B.S. in Psychology. The school is known for its athletic programs which appealed to her love of sports, fitness, and health. As an undergraduate, she became interested in the psychological benefits of exercise and saw the connection between the mind/body experience in overall health and well-being.
She continued her education at Barry University in Miami, where she received an M.S. in Clinical Psychology. Her focus became the social and environmental connection between exercise, obesity, and health. Her thesis, entitled “The Effects of Culture on the Motivation for Exercise,” solidified the premise that combining the benefits of exercise with psychological awareness created the unique holistic approach that she was seeking.
Her passion to find a career that included psychology and wellness brought her to Ultimate Fitness, Inc. in Winter Park, Florida. This boutique-style workout studio is owned by Rosemarie “Bud” Seaman, who has been in business since 1987. Alessia wants to use her skills in psychology and exercise to work with individuals struggling with food addiction and body issues at Bud’s studio. Because of the increase in child obesity, she wants to work with families and children to help break the cycle. She found the perfect place to combine her passion for personal training and mental health counseling to help others lead healthier and fulfilling lives.
She currently practices with Sandy Canfield LMHC PA at the Professional Associates of Winter Park and continues to trains clients at Ultimate Fitness Inc. also located in Winter Park, Florida.
